freebin friday and a lush experience

found a lovely wee glass tea cup and saucer today 

you can't tell in this bad photo but there is roses and leaves molded in the glass.

super pretty and FREE!

last night i attended a Lush VIP Perfume night, to promote their new range of Gorilla Perfumes.

it was so devine and we go spoilt!!

the night was designed to be a sensory delight.

as we were introduced to each fragrance we moved around the shop, different music was played, 

and they used props like orange lollipops when we smelled 'the sun'.

freshly brewed coffee whilst experiencing 'the voice of reason', a taste of vanilla and coconut whilst smelling 

"furze' and feeling fresh foliage whilst trying out 'flower's burrow'  - which was my FAVE!

we got a freebie for attending and more free gifts if we bought something (of course!)

i am such a lushie fan! their products are amazing so i don't have a problem with that!!

Freebin Friday on a Saturday!

Some things from this week I am uploading from my phone so sorry about the weirdness! I scored a massive silver platter for the rugrat prince's pirate bday party coming up Got a couple of amazing capes from the spca opshop And have been baking again from alexa johnstons 'a second helping' Go google her now! I love her recipe books!

hello! how are you in your wee corner of the world?

i awoke this morning to a frost - nothing to bad though.

I found some photos of an op shop adventure i had a bout 4 weeks ago...

heart baking tray - $1

winter clothes and pj's for the rugrat prince - $3

cute & ugly mug - thought it might be crown lynn on first look - but actually says 'made in japan " on the bottom 

that's right - food in  a bowl nom nom nom - $1

nana bag!!! $2 it does have a "house of g ' label but hey !!

awesome bag of wooden alphabet blocks and woooden train for only $2!!!!


i have also scored a few other cool things - loads of crown lynn including  THE BEST STASH OF CROWNLYNN PLATES TODAY...
i was just casually walking past the Red Cross oppy today and glanced in their free bin .. here is the convo that went on in my head ..
'oh look they are getting rid of loads of plates' ..' wait i know that pattern.'
'WHAT " they are getting rid of this!"
'Rummage and run!"

 the rugrat prince starting kindy and getting used to a new routine

lots of upcoming shows!

i have had a LOT of crown lynn bargains - will need a post of its own!

might be addicted to finding crown lynn - it's like treasure hunting!

i also went to a costume shop  sale - soooo good!

and i am leading an all girl team in the 48 hour film fest, 

where we have to write , shoot and edit a short film over a weekend!

wow- so much fun!!

and i'm also organising a VIP HIGH TEA to fundraise for The NZ Breast Cancer Foundation!

whew!

 just busy enough aye!

i was packing and cleaning and generally getting ready for tonight's burlesque gig - i forgot all about free-bin friday !!

i had saved the photos from the 'opshop extravaganza' i went on  the other day.

from the freebin this week...

 yup - original starwars photo book - i am a star wars geek , this came out in 1983 , the year 'return of the jedi' was released and maybe also the year i was born *ahem* ;)

they both are in a tattered state and thrown in the free bin where such things go to die - but i rescued them , and will give them a home for a few more years yet

 a pyrex dish $4 - i do love me some good old pyrex dishes, so pretty!

'mother' mug .50c - i just loved this and decided it was the rugrat prince's gift to me for mothers day.

i think it sits nicely with my jade owl for now.

a whole roll of material for $2 and a tassel for $1

these will become a costume piece for my alter ego

beautiful scarves - scavenged from the free bin outside the hospice shop in richmond.

i call this look 'burnt',  i was bleaching it and putting in coloured tips - but i like it like this !

freebin fridays

i love checking out what is in the op shops free bins, sometimes treasure, sometimes trash.
i especially enjoy seeing an item that i have seen in the shop for a couple months then being turfed in the freebin, some things you can't even give away .

nelson is pretty good for free bin rummaging, there is pretty much always a free bin outside the st vincent de paul, the hospice, the red cross and the spca op shops!

so on a friday my goal to go have a dig and show you the result!

today's find is a yellow vintage egg poacher!
as i walked into a vintage shop to look at the dresses , the sales assistant saw it and was surprised it was in the freebin! score!!
